Grünenthal is a global leader in pain management, with a product portfolio that includes both prescription only medicines (POM) and over the counter medicines (OTC).
In Sweden, Grünenthal’s migraine brand Zomig is available over the counter, and to strengthen Zomig’s leadership position in the market, we were asked to develop a series of print and digital materials to communicate the benefits of administering migraine treatment through the nasal route directly to patients.
Migraine is a condition that causes pulsating pain in the patient’s head and often leads to nausea and sensitivity to light and sound, which can make going to work and even performing simple daily tasks difficult to manage.
Zomig was originally marketed as a prescription only medicine and is now available to purchase over the counter. The shift from not being able to communicate the benefits of a prescription medicine to patients to now being able to market it as an over-the-counter product requires pharmaceutical companies to adopt a very different approach.
To support Grünenthal on this journey, they selected W to develop a series of printed and digital materials to increase awareness of the benefits of using the nasal route for migraine treatment to retail pharmacies and patients.
